It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Metung Yacht Club, situated on the shores of the majestic Gippsland Lakes. The club has a rich history going back to the early 1930’s.
The club’s membership encompasses people from all walks of life who are interested in many forms of on-water activity. Our volunteers support an active junior sailing program, and the Club offers a wide range of activities for sailors and power boaters. Activities include racing and cruising events, Twilight sailing and easy social cruises.
I hope you will take the opportunity to visit our re-furbished Clubhouse and enjoy the friendship and boating atmosphere Metung is renowned for.

Learn about the History of Metung YC
Founded amidst the Great Depression in 1934, Metung Yacht Club initially convened in Joe Bull’s log cabin, embracing one-design racing with the international "Snipe" class. After a brief hiatus in the 1940s due to the war, the club was rejuvenated in the 1950s, transforming from a modest beginning into a prominent hub for sailing and boating on the Lakes, supported by visionary projects and community contributions.

From our clubrooms with stunning views over Bancroft Bay to our well-stocked bar open from Wednesday to Sunday, we ensure every visit is memorable. Whether you're here to enjoy the best draught beer in Metung, a fine selection of wines, or just a relaxing coffee on our protected decking area, our facilities cater to all your needs. Plus, with inclusive shower and bathroom facilities and convenient parking, your time at the club is comfortable and carefree. We look forward to seeing you soon!
