Classic Wooden Boats
The Metung Yacht Club has an active group of enthusiasts who sail classic boats every month on the safe waters of Bancroft Bay and Lake King.
They range from large wooden sloops and H28’s to Couta Boats of various sizes.
Spinnakers are not carried and boats are handicapped on performance.
Crew experience is as varied as the type of yachts. Come along and be part the fun and adventure on and off the water.
Motor Boats and Cruising
With its idyllic position on Bancroft Bay and access to Australia’s largest lake system, Metung is ideally situated as a cruising destination.
Many Metung Yacht Club members own or are interested in both sailing and motor boat activities on the water.
While the Club includes several cruising activities in its calendar it recognises that more needs to be provided in this area in a format that is inclusive of both power and sail.
Developing this area is one of the Club’s strategic objectives and the Club would like to hear from members that would like to be actively involved. In particular volunteers who would be prepared to help develop and run events for this group.
